This sweet pittie girl has been waiting way too long for her forever couch. Found abandoned on the streets of the Carolinas, likely used as bait in dog fights (her scars tell a story she doesn’t like to dwell on), Luna has every reason not to trust humans, but she’s chosen love instead.

At just 4 years old, she was tossed aside and ended up on the E list. Not of any fault of her own.. But Buddy and friends stepped in and gave her a second shot. Now she’s waiting for someone to make it her last stop.
Luna’s got a PhD in Lap Sitting and a minor in Personal Space Invasion (with kisses, of course). She’s a little shy at first and will need a patient human who lets her set the pace—but once you’re in the circle of trust, you’re in for life.
She’s sassy, snuggly, and secretly a couch potato in disguise. Could you be her person?

This is Izzy.  We assume she is the mother of Dillon who was adopted back in 2021, they were dumped together. Izzy had heartworm but has been treated. She now has a clean bill of health. Izzy loves the water and loves to run. She LOVES cookies!! 

Izzy is not afraid of strangers and is very outgoing. We need to pull this girl. She’s been patiently waiting her turn. Izzy needs an active family and a yard to play in. Her tail was half docked and we do not know what happened but her personality shines right through. Izzy gets along with all dogs. She is NOT cat tested. 

She will be a great family dog.

Due to our own shelter being full, we need actual commitments on these dogs before we can pull them up.

I broke my own heart today.

It was supposed to be a good day — “Adventure Day” with a shelter dog. A chance to give them a break from the kennel, show them the world isn’t all bad. I usually love this day.

But then I met Sandy.

Sandy doesn’t wag her tail like most dogs. She watches the world like it might hurt her. Because it did. For years.

She was tied to a tree. No food. No water. No shade. No shelter. Just baking heat, cold nights, and silence. Day after day. Year after year.

Her body was starving. Her spirit almost gone.

And yet — somehow — she found the strength to chew through a metal chain. Metal. She saved herself. She ran until someone kind finally opened a door.

She’s been with us since May. And every day, we see little flickers of life come back to her. A small tail wag. A curious sniff. A moment where she forgets to be afraid.

But the pain is still in her eyes. It hits you like a truck. You feel it before she even looks at you.

She wants to trust. She’s trying so hard to believe love is real.

She needs a home with patience. With structure. With someone who gets that healing takes time. No cats. Probably no small animals — the prey drive is real. Kids? Maybe, if they’re older and know dogs. Other dogs? Maybe, with the right person guiding her.

Sandy is not broken.

She’s a survivor.

But she can’t do the rest alone.

So yeah, I cried today. The ugly kind. The "I want to save every single dog" kind.

Matilda didn’t lose a leg, she dropped the dead weight and leveled up. With tripod confidence and a stare that says, “bless your heart,” Tilly delivers grace, sass, and main character energy wherever she goes.

• Cuddling under blankets like royalty
• Leisurely evening strolls (especially if mulch hills are involved)
• Staring directly into your soul with mild disapproval

• Rushing. This queen moves at her own speed

Tilly is affectionate, curious, and loyal to her people. Once you’re in her circle, she’ll be your forever shadow, side-eye and all

Chevys ideal future home is an older couple, no other animals, and the understanding she can’t have high value items (Bully sticks, bones,) she plays with toys, and we do take them from her and give them back, so she knows whatever life she had before that made her feel like she had to defend her stuff, is over. 

She’s learning strangers don’t mean her harm and some of them are actually pretty cool. 

It’s huge progress. 

If you have time and patience to give her, she’s your girl. We truly love her and really want to see her in a loving home. She deserves it.

Meet Pepper!
Pepper is 45 lbs of chaos, cuddles, and chew toy destruction. He’s housebroken, crate trained, and very into bunny hopping when excited (which is... always).
He loves people, dogs, and snacks, in that order. He’s working on his leash manners, but to be fair, he thinks every dog he sees is his long-lost best friend and he’s just trying to say hi with his whole body.

No cats, please. Pepper thinks they’re squirrels in disguise.

If you’re into big energy, bigger cuddles, and a best friend who makes everyday fun, Pepper’s your guy.
