Buddy & Friends Animal Rescue is a 501(c)3 non-profit, all-volunteer organization based in Pembroke, MA. We rely solely on the backbone of our rescue which is fosters and volunteers. We exist to rescue and re-home dogs that would not have a chance otherwise.
"To rescue, is to heal a heart that we didn’t break.
It's an incredible honor to do that."
Your support and contributions will enable us to help more dogs. All donations to support the rescue efforts are tax deductible.

Simba is a super goofy dog who loves to play with his squeaky toys. He loves his adult people, and he always wants attention from his human friends.
Simba has a lot of puppy attitudes still. You get the puppy energy, but he’s crate and potty trained! He loves to do his training and will work even for his plain kibble! Treats are like an extra fun reward for Mr. Simba.
He is a rockstar for the vet, good in the tub and lets us cut his toenails! He is going to make someone a great pup! Simba is a high energy boy so NO small children— he’s not sure how big he is when he’s zooming around, and he easily gets over stimulated. He’s like a bull in a China shop when he gets over stimulated, but we still love his smooshy butt anyways.
Simba does experience separation anxiety and easily gets over stimulated. He does require an experienced handler. He prefers to eat his bones and play with toys without other dogs around so other dogs are fine as long as there are not resources involved.
ALL dogs are up to date on vaccinations, spayed/neutered, microchipped and on preventatives.

He was living on a tie out among other larger dogs and was in fear of at least one of them. He still has a scar on his leg from being tangled in his tie out. Stitch has had many, many kennel mates over the years and always got along with everyone.
The only reason he has been with us so long is that he had to undergo heartworm treatment three separate times and is finally heartworm free.
Stitch finally got a chance to be fostered inside and does amazing with fosters smaller dogs and two puppies. His foster can only keep him until 1/28 when she will be having surgery, so he needs a home asap. Otherwise, he will have to go back to living in an outside kennel because we have so few fosters.
Stitch is a fun dog and runs like the wind but still loves affection.

Bio:
Loki is a very energetic, very smart, very attached 1 year old purebred German Shepherd puppy. Unfortunately, Loki doesn't get along with our other dog and it is causing a stressful living environment for both dogs. He would thrive in an only dog household and with someone who is experienced with working breeds. He loves going for walks, playing fetch, and especially loves using his nose to find hidden treats. He did do a 3-week bootcamp so he is fairly good on commands/recall but would benefit from continued training. And even though he is a high energy dog, when it's time to settle down there's nothing better than him resting his head on your arm at peace.

Krusty was found on a gentleman’s property that was vacant. When he seen him, he thought he had passed away. Never would move but he finally seen his chest move and he finally raised his head up. The gentleman took him home and nursed him back to health. He had kids so that is where this pup's name came from.
Krusty has been with our southern partner for about a month. He goes to work with Tina, so he is crate trained, and semi house trained. He is still a puppy so when he plays a lot you have to let him out pretty quick or he will pee on the floor. Krusty sleeps in his crate at tonight. He would love to play with dogs but Tina’s inside dogs are too old to play with him. He has learned to play by himself with his toys and has zoomies in the house. He still likes to chew on your hands.
He will be a little scared at first and may bark but just love on him and he will be fine. Tina is attached to this one, so whoever gets this baby boy will need to give her updates.

This is Silver formerly known as Jane Doe. Silver was found on the streets of Weymouth in rough shape, prob close to 30 lbs. underweight, and signs of physical abuse to her body.
She has been in our care since the middle of January, and Silver is nearing her goal weight, all sores have shown great improvement. Silver is being fostered by Scott Shanley with Humarock Shepherds.
From Silver's foster dad:
Silver is a big powerful girl that will show the following behaviors. She is human social and shows neutrality with dogs unless they blow up at her, defensive, neutrality, and a desire to snuggle and sometimes goes a bit over the top excited.
The family that may show interest in this dog will need to be large breed and working-dog savvy. Silver has made great transition but will need a steady hand through the next year as maturity comes much later than a lot of other breeds. If I didn’t have as many dogs as I do, Silver would go nowhere, as being overprotective of her has become a thing. She loves to snuggle, go for walks and is an amazing copilot in the car. She eats like food is running out and pig ears are her favorite chew. When Silver is ready and the right home comes forward, I believe it will be a wonderful life for all involved.
Things to keep in mind for her adoption, size means larger food and vet bills. Size, knowing and planning to ensure she is under control at all times. The breed in itself can show defensive behaviors, meaning not everyone may get the want to be friends look. Keeping her a healthy weight, giving her proper exercise and above all mental stimulation

She’s learning strangers don’t mean her harm and some of them are actually pretty cool.
It’s huge progress.
If you have time and patience to give her, she’s your girl. We truly love her and really want to see her in a loving home. She deserves it.

JT is a work in progress. He is a sweet and timid pup who's had a rough start in life. Despite being shy and scared, JT tries his best to be brave. He walks well on a leash with minimal pulling and is eager to please. Jt's past is marked by scars, both physical and emotional. He has scars on his legs and seems hesitant around people, suggesting he's had limited socialization. We are working hard with him to get him comfortable with people.
When introduced to a toy, JT was confused, indicating he's never experienced playtime before. Despite all this, JT's willingness to try and his sweet demeanor make him a lovable companion. He needs patience, understanding, and guidance to help him overcome his fears and thrive.

Foster to Adopt program!!
This program will be for all dogs that are on their way up from TN. We have removed our age requirements. Want to spend more than an hour with your new furry friend to see if they are the right dog for you? Great! This program is just for you. No commitments and the rescue for the first 7 days pays for all your pups needs. By day 7, if your pup does not work out, then you continue fostering until we find him or her their furever home. This also works out for us as we won't have to worry about our dogs making more transitions than necessary.
If you are interested, please email Foster@buddyandfriendsma.org
We are ALWAYS looking to add more permanent fosters to our foster base. We pay for EVERYTHING and the only commitment you have is to keep your pup loved and safe. We provide vet visits, toys, treats, kennel, and food. You will also become a part of our already awesome foster team. You just provide a loving home while your foster pup waits for their furever family. Apply to foster below.
